Patricia Chateauneuf

General Manager, Sales Media Multiplatform, Montreal and Eastern Canada, CBC/Radio-Canada.

« A woman’s image is often defined by her physical appearance. My hair is part of my femininity. So, of course, the idea of shaving it, of exposing myself is quite scary. We all have to learn to rise above it all. »

In 2021, Patricia Chateauneuf was named General Manager, Sales Media Multiplatform, Montreal and Eastern Canada for CBC/Radio-Canada. Cumulating more than 20 years of experience in multiplatform media sales and creative media, Patricia thrives on tackling new challenges. Lecturer at UQAM, public speaker, and habitual jury member, she is both deeply committed to and passionate about the communications industry. In January 2020, she also joined as mentor for Women in Governance’s mentoring program.

An accomplished woman with an impressive track record, Patricia cannot help but feel a little anxious at the idea of joining the Audacieuses. In spite of this, she decided to just go with it. “A woman’s image is often defined by her physical appearance. My hair is part of my femininity. So, of course, the idea of shaving it, of exposing myself is quite scary. We all have to learn to rise above it all.”

Inspired by her friend and past Audacieuse, Patricia could not help but carry the project forward. “When she passed the torch, I had to pick it up. I told myself, ‘She did it; now it’s my turn.’ My turn to step up to the plate.”

On the Importance of Stepping out of your Comfort Zone

Despite her well-established expertise and her experience spanning over two decades, Patricia cannot contemplate a time when she will not question herself or confront things that defy her equilibrium. She sincerely believes that stepping out of what’s “comfortable” allows you to self-reflect and blossom.

“We all tend to sit back. I do the opposite: I stay perched at the edge of my seat ready to take the plunge. When you step out of your comfort zone, you can learn a great many things about yourself. In that spirit, I believe joining the Audacieuses will be an extremely rewarding experience although I’m a little breathless at the idea.”

Patricia is the proud matriarch of a blended family of five healthy children. She is well aware of her good fortune. That’s another reason why she is willing to support the cause.

“Cancer is so unfair. Children should never get sick. In my heart, I want to know that I contributed in my own way to eradicating this disease. When you enjoy a privileged life, it’s crucial to give back. No matter how scary it is for me, I’m doing it for those children and I think that in the end, I will gain so much from the experience.”

Harnessing the Power of our own Actions

Positive and generous, Patricia endeavours to do good around her and to constantly improve herself. “How can you make the world around you better? In life, there are many things we cannot control but a few over which we hold the power. We control our own actions. I aspire to be better every day and to make the world better. That’s what drives me and my decisions the most: trying to improve things however I can.”

In spite of her busy schedule, Patricia has been actively involved in a number of causes for many years now. She feels especially drawn to Leucan and the Audacieuses project. Both the Challenge and the perspective of adding her voice to a team of fellow women is a tremendous opportunity in her eyes.

“I’m thrilled by the idea of making a difference. The Audacieuses is a fantastic project. What a great idea to reach out to women from the business world to extend the project’s reach and, hopefully, to raise more money for the cause. As a team player, this is the type of project and cause that I can fully support.”

Authenticity at the Heart of Everything

With her extensive experience, Patricia leads with authenticity. She climbed her way to the top and can now use her knowledge and expertise to help others with both passion and humility.

“Something I find myself repeating constantly to my teams is that when you lead according to your values and welcome authentic discussions, you will connect with people. I think I make a difference with them by being true to myself.”

Tenacious and committed, Patricia loves to challenge herself and reach her goals. In that optic, the Audacieuses becomes another challenge to tackle. “When I get involved, I give it my 200% or I don’t get involved at all. I can tell you that I’m 200% invested in this project!”
